Sandra Schwab is an author, artist, and translator. She holds a PhD in English Literature and used to work as a university lecturer. During that time, she published a study on the history of dragonslaying, became an expert on the Victorian magazine Punch, was a guest professor at York University in Toronto, and appeared on the BBC 2 documentary Great Continental Railway Journeys to chat with Michael Portillo about the Grimms’ fairy tales.
Though Sandra is a native speaker of German, she has been writing novels in English for more than sixteen years and has acquired a near-native speaker competence in the language. Since the release of her debut novel in 2005, she has enchanted readers worldwide with her unusual historical romances.
She lives in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, with a sketchbook, a sewing machine, and an ever-expanding library.
